PM Modi avoids Ram Temple issue in Ayodhya rally; ends address with “Jai Shri Ram” chants

Though Prime Minister Modi ended his speech with "Jai Shri Ram", he did not make any mention of the Ram temple during his poll rally.

PM Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Ayodhya in his maiden visit to the Holy city
He ended the rally with chants of "Jai Shri Ram", but skipped visit to the makeshift temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram and the Hanuman Garhi Temple
New Delhi: During his maiden visit to Ayodhya after 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive crowd in Gosaiganj near the holy city  but avoided talking about the Ram temple issue. Though, the PM ended his speech with chants of "Jai Shree Ram", he decided to give Ram Janmabhoomi and Hanuman Garhi temple a miss this time. The PM slammed the Congress party over years of “negligence” and “past incidents of terrorism”. He  also trained guns at the SP-BSP alliance in the state and accused them of using the names of veterans like Babasaheb Ambedkar and Ram Manohar Lohia. He said: “Be it SP, BSP or Congress, it's necessary to know their reality. Behen ji used the name of Babasaheb Ambedkar but she did everything just the opposite of his principles. SP used the name of Lohia ji but they destroyed the law and order situation in UP.” Referring to the recent serial bombings in Sri Lanka, Prime Minister said that in the previous government such incidents were rampant across India as well. He said: “We all saw what happened in Sri Lanka, a similar situation prevailed in India before 2014. Can we ever forget the blasts that had rocked places like Ayodhya and Faridabad? Such incidents have now ceased in the country after this government came to power.” He said: “But the problem of terrorism is not entirely uprooted, as our neighbouring country (Pakistan) is the factory of terrorists. It only knows how to export terrorists and terrorism.” Urging people to cast their votes in BJP’s favour, he said, “Pakistan is awaiting weak government in India. But this government does not spare anybody who messes with the country.” He said: “Modi Chhedta nahi hai, par koi chhedta hai to chhodta nahi hai”. (Modi does not mess with anybody, but does not spare if anybody does so) As an enormous crowd cheered for him, the PM took a jibe at his political rivals. “Public’s love for me, upsets the SP and the BSP. It increases their BP (blood pressure).” He went on to enlist BJP schemes, and said it has revamped the pension schemes, and has worked for women's upliftment. He said Ayushman Bharat is helping poor access healthcare. PM skips makeshift temple at Ram Janmabhoomi While people are wondering what could be the reason that the PM is not visiting the makeshift Ram Temple, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, head of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas said those who want to visit may visit, those who do not want to visit may do as they please. BJP has been facing allegations of politicising the issue of Ram Temple.  Ayodhya MP lallu Singh said in the defense of the PM that “PM Modi is doing the work that lord Ram has done. He worked for the poor of the country. He is working for Lord Ram, he may pay a visit whenever he wants to.” Ayodhya falls under Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency, which goes to polls in the fifth phase on May 6. As per seers in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to not visit Ram Temple, before a solution is chalked out for its construction. The main priest of the makeshift temple at Ram Janmbhoomi, Acharya Satendra Das Ji Maharaj said “PM Modi has vowed that he will visit the site only when foundation stone for the temple will be laid.
