Lok Sabha elections: Kumar Vishwas may campaign for BJP in Delhi

Rebel Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas may campaign for the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, sources said on Tuesday.

Kumar Vishwas is considering the Delhi BJP's proposal of campaigning for the party in the Lok Sabha polls, sources said.
The BJP might consider the option of giving Vishwas a ticket from the east Delhi parliamentary constituency, they said.
Haryanvi singer Sapna Chaudhary is also likely to campaign for the saffron party in Delhi.
NEW DELHI: Disgruntled AAP leader Kumar Vishwas is considering the Delhi BJP's proposal of campaigning for the party in the Lok Sabha polls, sources said Tuesday. Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari had a meeting with Vishwas on Monday where the latter said he would require another meeting to put things in perspective, the sources in the BJP said. The sources also claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might consider the option of giving Vishwas a ticket from the east Delhi parliamentary constituency as he is a good orator and can hold the crowd captive with his wordplay. He was a key part of Aam Aadmi Party's campaign during the Vidhan Sabha elections and if he campaigns for BJP in the polls, it will be a huge asset, the sources said. Haryanvi singer Sapna Chaudhary is also likely to campaign for the saffron party in Delhi. The Lok Sabha polls being conducted in seven phases will begin on April 11 and continue till May 19. Delhi will vote on May 12 and the overall results will be declared on May 23. AAP will discuss prospects of pre-poll alliance with Congress Amid Congress president Rahul Gandhi's remarks that his party was flexible and open to alliances, the AAP said it will discuss the prospects of a pre-poll tie up with the grand old party with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and party leaders. "It was just a statement. We will discuss this with Arvind Kejriwal and other party members and let you know," AAP national spokesperson Sanjay Singh said while responding to a question at a press conference held at the party head office. Earlier in the day, Gandhi, while releasing the Congress's election manifesto, had said his party was open to stitching alliances across the country and was "very flexible" on the issue. An air of uncertainty has shrouded the Congress alliance with the AAP in Delhi. The Congress party unit in Delhi is divided on the issue with a section for and another against an alliance. The party has been dilly-dallying on the issue and has not been able to take or announce its decision in this regard. The AAP has been criticising the Congress leadership and has accused the party of "arrogance" in firming up an alliance with it in Delhi.
