Nadda In J&K Today, Talks On Lok Sabha Poll On Cards As BJP Steps Up Ante
BJP national president JP Nadda will visit Jammu and Kashmir today where he will discuss and finalise party's strategy for Lok Sabha polls.
Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda will be on a daylong visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday where he will discuss and finalise the party’s strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The BJP leader will start his tour from Jammu where he will pay obeisance at the historic Raghunath temple in the heart of the city.
Nadda will chair a meeting of senior members led by J-K BJP president Ravinder Raina at the party headquarters in Jammu.
The meeting will also be attended by National General Secretary, incharge J&K, Tarun Chugh along with both Member Parliaments from Jammu and Kashmir — Union Minister Jitendra Singh who won the Udhampur seats twice and Jugal Kishore Sharma, who won the Jammu seats twice for the party.
According to a PTI report, quoting a BJP leader as saying, party leaders are likely to finalise candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in the Sunday meeting. An internal survey report was recently submitted to Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah on the basis of which decision on finalising candidates could be taken.
The focus of the meeting would be to finalise the party strategy to counter the INDIA bloc which has hinted of putting up joint candidates against the BJP, he said, according to the PTI report.

Nadda’s meeting in Jammu comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir due later this month or in early February and the Sunday meeting will also discuss the PM’s visit.
The BJP national president is also scheduled to hold a separate meeting with party’s Jammu and Kashmir unit president and General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul before returning to Delhi.
