Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Congress Releases Third List With 56 Names

The Congress has released its third list of candidates with 56 names for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Lok Sabha Elections: The Congress released its third list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday. The grand old party's third list included 56 names and the party has left Sikar seat in Rajasthan for CPI-M.  

Among the prominent names were Adhir Ranjan Choudhary from Bahrampur (West Bengal), Ve Vaithilingam from Puducherry, Sonal Patel, and Nepal Mahato.

Sonal Patel will face Amit Shah on the Gandhinagar seat in Gujarat, Mallikarjun Kharge's son-in-law Radha Krishna has got a ticket from the Gulbarga seat in Karnataka.

Last week, the Congress released its second list of 43 candidates for the upcoming elections, featuring prominent names such as Nakul Nath from Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara and Vaibhav Gehlot from Rajasthan's Jalore. Among the notable candidates, Gaurav Gogoi, the deputy leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, has been nominated to contest from Assam's Jorhat, while sitting MP Pradyut Bordoloi will represent Nagaon.

Rahul Kaswan, who recently switched from the BJP, will contest from Churu in Rajasthan. Harish Chandra Meena, a close confidant of senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot and former DGP, will contest from the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur constituency, and Karan Singh Uchiyarda will contest from Jodhpur.

Earlier in the day, suspended BSP leader and Lok Sabha MP Danish Ali joined the Congress in the presence of senior party leaders. After joining the grand old party, he said that going by the prevailing situation in the country, it is important to join the grand old party in the fight against "divisive" forces.

Jan Adhikar Party leader Pappu Yadav also joined the Congress and announced the merger of his outfit. A former five-time MP from Bihar, Yadav is the husband of Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan and is known for having influence in the Seemanchal area of the eastern state.
