ABP-CVoter Exit Poll Results: I.N.D.I.A Bloc To Sweep Punjab In Setback For NDA Alliance

According to the ABP C-Voter Survey exit poll findings, the opposition alliance is likely to sweep the state while the BJP will see a setback in the northern state.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha results, the ABP-Cvoter survey has predicted a sweep for I.N.D.I.A Bloc with the opposition getting 6-8 seats out of the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies. 

The latest survey predicts 1-3 seats for the NDA alliance while others like Akali Dal are expected to get 3-5 seats.

Moreover, the opposition alliance is likely to get 32.7 votes, the NDA alliance is projected to get 21.3 percent votes. The AAP is likely to get 24.4 percent votes while the Akali Dal is likely to get 21.5 percent votes. 

Voting in Punjab for its 13 parliamentary constituencies was held in a single phase on June 1 in the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Punjab witnessed an interesting four-cornered political battle as the I.N.D.I.A bloc members, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party were pitted against each other, with each trying to stake their claim and win big.

Another crucial aspect of the Lok Sabha polling in Punjab this time is that the Bharatiya Janata Party, for the very first time, will be contesting the elections without its long-standing ally Shiromani Akali Dal.

In the 2019 general elections, the Congress emerged victorious from the state, securing eight seats. The BJP and SAD managed to win two seats each, while the AAP secured just one seat.

Punjab is a crucial state for Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP as it is the only other state in the assembly besides Delhi, where it holds power. In order to achieve this, AAP’s Kejriwal, who is out until June 1 on interim bail, was seen campaigning with Punjab’s CM Bhagwant Mann.

The state also witnessed a few defections ahead of the polling as INC’s Raj Kumar Chabbewal and Gurpreet Singh GP joined AAP. Both of them were announced candidates from Hoshiarpur and Fatehgarh Sahib seats, respectively.

Apart from them Patiala MP Preneet Kaur also left Congress to join BJP. AAP’s Jalandhar candidate Sushil Rinku also joined the saffron camp.

Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu joined BJP and former MLA Pawan Kumar, former SAD leader, joined hands with AAP.
