LS Polls: From Rahul in Amethi to Digvijay in Bhopal; Congress’ list of candidates & who is contesting from where

Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh will be contesting from Bhopal. Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat is fielded from Nainital constituency.

New Delhi: The All India Congress Committe has released eight list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sbaha elections 2019 so far. The party has so far announced the names of its 218 candidates for the election to the 543-member Lok Sabha which will be held in seven phases beginning on 11 April and ending on 19 May. The counting will take place on 23 May. The party began announcing the batches of its Lok Sabha candidates on March 7. On Saturday the party announced its latest eighth list of 38 candidates for the April-May parliamentary polls with its leader in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge being renominated from Gulbarga in Karnataka and former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan being fielded from Nanded. Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh will be contesting from Bhopal. Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat is fielded from Nainital constituency. The party is fielding Renuka Choudhary from Khammam, Manickam Tagore from Virudhunagar in Tamil Nadu, Vikramadiya Singh from Udhampur and Raman Bhalla from Jammu, Raj Babbar from Fatehpur Sikri in UP. The first list included the name of Sonia Gandhi who will contest elections from Rae Bareli while INC president Rahul Gandhi will fight from Amethi.
