Left Does Not Require Validation From Congress To Oppose PM Modi: Pinarayi

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan also alleged that the Congress lacked any genuine ideological or practical motivation to oppose the BJP.

In a recent development within the I.N.D.IA bloc, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan criticised the Congress suggesting that its opposition to the BJP is more about electoral politics than genuine ideological differences. He noted the alleged irony of Congress members questioning the Left's stance against PM Modi and said that the Left does not require Congress validation to oppose BJP policies.

According to ANI, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said, "The Congress lacks any genuine ideological or practical motivation to oppose the BJP, beyond the rhetoric crafted by news-centric PR agencies. Congress' rivalry with the BJP is primarily confined to electoral politics and power struggles, rather than rooted in substantive ideological differences. Congress has evolved into a party primarily focused on gaining traction within power politics."

To the question of Congress on why Kerala CM did not oppose PM, Pinarayi Vijayan said, "It is ironic that Rahul Gandhi and VD Satheesan, from the same Congress party, question why the Chief Minister didn't speak out against Modi. The Left does not require validation from Congress to oppose PM Modi's misguided policies and the RSS guiding them..."

The Congress and CPI(M), both constituents of the I.N.D.I.A bloc, have been at loggerheads with each other in Kerala. Nevertheless, the decision of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to contest from Wayanad in Kerala has also drawn criticism from the Left parties.

Kerala is set to vote for Lok Sabha elections in a single phase on April 26.
