Immediately after becoming Karnataka CM, Yeddyurappa transfers 5 IPS and IAS officers

In the morning BS Yeddyurappa said he 'won't require 15 days to prove majority on the floor of the house'.

Bengaluru: Hours after he took charge as chief minister of Karnataka, B S Yeddyurappa swung into action mode by transferring four IPS officers and an IAS officer. As per our sources,  apart from four IPS officers, Additional Chief Secretary LK Atheeq has been transferred and M Lakshminarayana has been appointed in his place. Later reports of another IPS reshuffle came in, targeting the Eagleton resort where the Congress MLAs are staying.  K Annamali replaces B Ramesh as the SP of Ramanagaram. Eagleton resort comes under the SP of Ramanagara's jurdisdiction. According to the notification issued earlier only four IPS were transferred:   Amar Kumar Pandey, IPS (KN-89), Additional Director General of Police, Railways, Bengaluru is transferred with immediate effect and posted until furher orders as Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence, Bengaluru. Sandeep Patil, IPS (KN-2004), Deputy Inspector General of Police, KSRP is transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Intelligence, Bengaluru Devaraja, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Bidar District, Bidar, is transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Division, Bengaluru City, Bengaluru. S. Girish, IPS, Supreintendent of Police, Anti Corruption Bureau, Bengaluru is transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders as Deputy Commissioner of Police, North East Division, Bengaluru City, Bengaluru. Reports also came in of  Yeddyurappa withdrawing police security from Eagleton resort where Congress has lodged its MLAs. Congress may now move MLAs to Punjab or Kerala to prevent them getting poached allegedly by BJP. Despite Yeddyruppa taking the chief minister's chair, the Lingayat strongman's fate still hands in balance. Tomorrow the apex court will be examining the propriety of his appointment again and he will have to produce the two letters dated May 15 and 16 he has written to Governor Vajubhai Vala to stake his claim for government formation. "BS Yeddyurappa is going to be the CM for a day, half of which has already gone by," Randeep Surjewala, Congress said in a press conference. His party leaders along with JDS had held a dharna in the morning outside Vidhan Soudha protesting against Yeddyurappa's swearing-in ceremony. Senior advocate Ram Jethmalani has called the whole procedure of making Yeddyurapa the chief minister, "gross abuse of power." "The Governor exercised his power because he knows Modi? People need answer. This is nothing but gross abuse of power. He is protege of Modi and is working under his instructions. This is dictatorship," he told ABP News in an interview.
