Gujarat Results 2022: With Lead On 125 Seats, BJP Close To Exit Poll Prediction In Early Trends
Gujarat Results 2022: As per the ABP CVoter Gujarat Exit Poll, the incumbent BJP was projected to bag anywhere between 128-140 seats and secure a vote share of 49.4 per cent.
New Delhi: As the counting is underway for the election to 182-member Gujarat Assembly, the Bharatiya Janata Party is rallying ahead in the early trends with 125 seats and close to the exit poll predictions. As per the ABP CVoter Gujarat Exit Poll, the incumbent BJP was projected to bag anywhere between 128-140 seats and secure a vote share of 49.4 per cent.
Meanwhile early trends for Congress shows a seat projection of 52 and 4 for Aam Aadmi Party.
The counting of votes began at 8 am for the election held in two phases on December 1 and December 5.
The first phase of polling in 89 Assembly constituencies across 19 districts in the Saurashtra-Kutch coastal region and the southern parts of Gujarat recorded a voter turnout of 60.2 per cent. In the second phase, 93 Assembly constituencies across 114 districts witnessed a voter turnout of 58.8 per cent.

The high-stakes Gujarat Elections 2022 saw large-scale rallies, roadshows and campaigns with star campaigners from every party as the Bharatiya Janata Party is seeking to retain an eighth consecutive term, while a third dimension has been added to the contest between BJP and Congress with debutant Aam Aadmi Party which is trying to create some ripple.
On the cards are the fate of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s chief ministerial candidate Isudan Gadhvi, and youth leaders Hardik Patel, Jignesh Mevani and Alpesh Thakor, among a total of 1,621 candidates.
A total of 70 political outfits and 624 independents were in the fray.
Apart from the main rivals BJP, Congress and AAP, 101 candidates from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and 26 from Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) also contested the polls.
