Gujarat Election 2022 Schedule Likely To Be Declared By Nov 2, Polls Expected In Two Phases
The ECI has already announced the dates for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly election and an announcement for Gujarat polls is likely to be made soon. Know all about it.
Gujarat Election 2022: The Election Commission of India is likely to announce the dates for the Gujarat Assembly Election by November 2 while there is speculation that the polls can be held in two phases.
According to sources, the schedule will be announced on either November 1 or 2. The first phase of voting can take place on November 30 or December 1, and the second phase on December 4 or 5. The counting of votes and result announcement can take place on December 8.
The ECI has already announced the dates for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly election. The election in the hill state will be held in one phase on November 12 and counting of votes will be done on December 8. The last date for making nominations was October 25, the names can be withdrawn till October 29.

While the Aam Aadmi Party released its seventh list of candidates, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress are yet to make their announcements in this regard. The AAP, which has positioned itself as the main contender to the BJP, has announced 86 candidates so far.
Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) also released a list of five candidates - from Danilimda (SC), Jamalpur Khadia, Surat-East, Bapunagar, and Limbayat seats.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been aggressively campaigning in the state, holding rallies and town halls and making a host of pre-poll promises of free electricity and better education and healthcare facilities among others.
The ruling BJP is also amping up its campaign with several visits by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to announce projects worth several crores and other high-profile events.
Congress veteran Ashok Gehlot is on a three-day visit to the poll-bound state and will hold six public rallies, news agency PTI reported citing party sources.
The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) will come into effect immediately after the announcement of the Gujarat Election schedule.
