Gujarat Assembly Election: Abdasa Assembly Constituency

The Abdasa assembly constituency falls under the Kachchh (SC) Lok sabha constituency.

Gujarat goes to polls in two phases on December 1 and December 5 and results will be declared on December 8. The term of the Gujarat assembly ends on February 18. The Gujarat assembly has 182 seats with 92 as the majority mark.

In the 2017 election, Congress's Jadeja Pradhyumansinh Mahipatsinh defeated BJP's Chhabilbhai Naranbhai Patel. Mahipatsinh received 73,312 votes as compared to 63,566 bagged by Patel.

Abdasa constituency recorded a voter turnout of 66.73% in the 2017 Gujarat Assembly Elections.

There are a total of 2,23,455 voters in the constituency, of which 1,16,213 are male and 1,07,242 female. It mainly consists of the rural population.

SC voters at Abdasa assembly is approximately 32,052, which is around 13.91% as per the 2011 Census. ST voters at Abdasa assembly is approximately 1,728, which is around 0.75% as per the 2011 Census. Muslim voters at Abdasa assembly is approximately 26,959, which is around 11.7% as per voter list.

As per an opinion poll conducted by ABP News in association with CVoter, the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is predicted to maintain its streak for the seventh time since 1995 with an estimated victory over 135 to 143 seats, which would represent a significant gain from its 2017 tally of 99 seats.

The saffron party is expected to secure a vote share of 57 per cent from upper caste Hindus followed by Congress which may get around 26 per cent upper caste Hinu vote share while the debutant Aam Aadmi Party to get 14 per cent vote share in the 2022 Gujarat Assembly elections.

Around 39 per cent Dalit vote share is predicted to side with BJP, with Congress close behind at 38 per cent vote share. AAP is predicted to get 20 per cent Dalit vote share.
