Diya Kumari dismissed speculations suggesting that she was not given the CM post due to her reported conflict with Raje.

New Delhi: Rajasthan Deputy CM-designate Diya Kumari on Tuesday addressed speculations about alleged conflict with former chief minister Vasundhara Raje. She, along with Prem Chand Bairwa, has been appointed as Deputy Chief Minister of the state assembly.

Bhajanlal Sharma was named as the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan after BJP's recent victory in the state assembly polls.

Speaking to ANI, Diya Kumari dismissed speculations suggesting that she was not given the CM post due to her reported conflict with Raje. "I don't comment on such things. All of us have worked together. She was there too, I received her blessings too," she told ANI.

Raje congratulated Bhajanlal Sharma for being appointed as CM, and Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa as Deputy CMs.

"Hearty congratulations to Sanganer MLA Shri @BhajanlalBjp on being nominated as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. We are confident that under the able guidance of respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi  you will take the state to new heights of progress. On being chosen as one of the Deputy Chief Ministers of the Rajasthan Assembly, she said, "PM Modi cares for women and policies have been framed by keeping them in focus. Today, trust has been shown in me."

"So, I would like to thank PM Modi, the party's national president, Home Minister, Defence Minister, state president, all incharges and everyone else for considering me eligible for this and giving me this responsibility...I am grateful and happy to have received this opportunity. We will work together," she added.

In the Rajasthan assembly elections, the BJP secured 115 seats out of 199 while the Congress got 69 seats. Elections were held on 199 of the 200 seats as polling in Karanpur was deferred due to the death of Congress candidate and sitting MLA Gurmeet Singh Koonar. Polling will now be held on January 5.
