'Fed Up With Kejriwal's Corruption:' Sachdeva Says BJP To Win 50 Seats In Delhi Polls

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva claimed that the BJP would win approximately 50 seats and achieve an unprecedented victory to form the government in Delhi on February 8.

The BJP on Thursday assessed the voting trends for the Delhi Assembly elections and expressed confidence in securing around 50 seats. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva stated that voters turned out on Wednesday to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s double-engine development model for the city.

After the review meeting, Sachdeva claimed that the BJP would win approximately 50 seats and achieve an unprecedented victory to form the government in Delhi on February 8. "The people of Delhi are fed up with the corruption-ridden, anarchic and incompetent rule of the Arvind Kejriwal led AAP and voted decisively against it," Sachdeva said, news agency PTI reported.

The review meeting, held at the Delhi BJP office, gathered feedback from candidates, their election agents, and district presidents. Senior BJP leaders, including Shiv Prakash, Delhi BJP election in-charge Baijayant Jay Panda, co-incharge Atul Garg, and party MPs, were also present at the meeting.

Poll Predicts Clean Sweep For BJP In Delhi

The confidence among BJP members came after several post-poll survey predictions, another exit poll for the Delhi assembly elections has predicted Thursday a major setback for the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party in the national capital.

According to the Axis My India, Bharatiya Janata Party is predicted to sweep 50 of the 70 assembly seats in the Delhi Legislative Assembly while Aam Aadmi Party could get limited to just 20 seats.

The survey comes in stark contrast to the huge mandate that AAP received in the 2020 assembly polls securing 62 seats while BJP won only 8 seats. However, Congress might once again be left to bite dust which did not secure a single seat in the previous elections.

As per the survey, the BJP -- which is contesting the polls in alliance with Janata Dal(United) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) -- is projected to secure a seat share between 45 to 55 with a 48 per cent vote share.

For the AAP, the seat share could hover between 15 to 25 with a 42 per cent vote share while 1 seat each has been predicted for Congress and Others.
