BJP ally Nitish Kumar demands Sadhvi Pragya's resignation over her 'Nathuram Godse' remark

New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday lashed out at Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur for her ‘desh bhakt’ statement in favour of Mahatma Gandhi assassin Nathuram Godse, and said that he “would not tolerate such remarks”. Speaking to media personnel after casting his vote at polling booth number 326 at a school in Raj Bhawan, Patna, BJP ally Nitish said “Bharatiya Janta Party should think about such comments”. “We condemn such remarks,” he added. JD(U) leader further said “This nation is Bapu Rashtra and no compromises will be made on crime, corruption and communalism”. He further demanded action against the party leader and sought that party should sack her from the party. Even Earlier Pragya had created controversy after she claimed that 26/11 martyr Hemant Karkare, who died fighting against terrorist in Mumbai, lost his life because he tortured the BJP leader in jail.

Pragya is contesting against senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh from Bhopal. Nitish statement against Pragya is important as the JDU leader broke his alliance with RJD over corruption allegations against RJD Chief Lalu Yadav.
