AIMIM Backs Ambedkar Grandson's Poll Bid From Amravati
In 2024 Lok Sabha elections for Amravati Lok Sabha constituency, Anandraj Ambedkar is set to contest as an independent candidate backed by Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi.
AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi extended his support to Anandraj Ambedkar, the grandson of the father of Indian Consitution BR Ambedkar, who is set to contest Lok Sabha elections from Amravati in Maharashtra. In the polls, Owaisi advised his party workers to ensure the victory of Anandraj.
Taking to X, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi said, "I am pleased to announce AIMIM support to Mr Anandraj Ambedkar, the grandson of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar who is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Amravati. I advise my party workers to work for his victory."

In 2024 Lok Sabha elections for Amravati Lok Sabha constituency, Anandraj Ambedkar is set to contest as an independent candidate backed by Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi, a party led by his brother Prakash Ambedkar. Amravati is already facing a multi-cornered contest with BJP candidate and sitting MP Navneet Rana, Congress' Balwant Wankhede, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi's Prajakta Pillewan and Prahar Janshakti Party leader Dinesh Bub.
On April 2, Imtiaz Jaleel, AIMIM Maharashtra unit president, wished Anandraj for the upcoming polls. Taking to X, Imtiaz said, "2 days ago, I had the honour to host Anand Raj Ambedkar ji for dinner at my residence."
"We had a fruitful conversation regarding his candidature in Amravati for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. I wish him All the best as he files his nomination today," he said.
The elections in Maharashtra will be held in five phases in 48 parliamentary constituencies on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13 and May 20.
