As soon as Devendra Fadnavis's name was stamped by the BJP, congratulations started pouring in. Fadnavis was seen wearing a turban at the meet. BJP had appointed Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Vijay Rupani as observers for the legislature party meeting.
Fadnavis became the CM for the first time in 2014. He went on to become the only Maharashtra CM other than Vasantrao Naik to have completed a full term in office. He took oath as CM for the second time on November 23, 2019, but resigned five days later.
After being elected as the leader of the legislature party, Devendra Fadnavis said: "We have to move forward with a big goal in mind. We have to move ahead taking everyone with us." Fadnavis further thanked Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.
