ABP-CVoter Snap Poll: Not Revealing CM Face For State Polls To Work In Favour Of BJP? Here's What Voters Say

ABP-CVoter Snap Poll: The BJP has not projected any chief minister candidate for the assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan.

Political parties have geared up for the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh along with Mizoram and Telangana. While the Congress has said it would be contesting the polls in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh under the leadership of current Chief Ministers Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel respectively, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is most likely to fight the elections in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Several reports even indicate that Madhya Pradesh where the saffron party is currently in power might not go forward with CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

While Congress is yet to release its first list of candidates, the BJP has already announced two lists for MP but Chouhan has not found his name mentioned.

Whether this move by the BJP to not announce a chief minister candidate is a pass or a fail, ABP News in association with CVoter conducted a survey to gauge the mood of the voters. The opinion, however, seems to be equally divided among the voters with an almost equal percentage of respondents voting in favour and against the decision.

For 41 per cent of the respondents, contesting the polls by not announcing a chief minister candidate will benefit the saffron party. Among those who opined the same, 32 per cent support the Opposition while 53 per cent support the BJP-led NDA.

42 per cent of voters are of the opinion that not having a chief minister face for the assembly polls will make the party suffer losses. Of the total number of voters, nearly 50 per cent of people are supporting the Opposition and 32 per cent in favour of the NDA share the same opinion.

Meanwhile, 16 per cent of respondents chose not to go with either side.

[Disclaimer: This survey was based on CVoter personal interviews conducted among 2,686 adults across India. Sometimes the table figures do not sum to 100 due to the effects of rounding off. The margin of error is +/- 3% at the macro level and +/- 5% at the micro level. We believe this will give the closest possible resemblance to the trends.]
