ABP-CVoter Opinion Poll: Will Congress Make A Comeback In Karnataka? Check Congress, BJP, JD(S) Seat Range Projection

The results of the ABP-CVoter opinion polls show BJP is likely to win in 73-85 seats, Congress will bag 110-122 seats, while the JD(S) will win in 21-29 seats.

With the crucial Karnataka elections just a few days away, ABP News in association with CVoter conducted a final opinion poll to gauge the public mood. While the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Basavaraj Bommai government is confident of retaining power, the Congress, too, has left no stone unturned of forming the government and said the electoral fortunes will be in their favour.

The state has a 224-member assembly, and the Janata Dal (Secular) is the third major political party, with 28 MLAs. The BJP currently holds 119 seats, with the Congress following closely behind with 75 seats, while two seats remain vacant.

The southern state will go to elections on May 10, and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.

Of the total 224 seats in the Karnataka Assembly, the results of the ABP-CVoter opinion polls show BJP is likely to win in 73-85 seats, Congress will bag 110-122 seats, while the JD(S) will win in 21-29 seats.

Here’s the constituency-wise seat range projection of the parties

Greater Bengaluru: In the region that has 32 seats, opinion poll results of ABP-CVoter show BJP will bag 37% with 12-16 seats, Congress will win in 41% with 14-18 seats, JD(S) will register victory in 15% with 1-4 seats, while other parties will win in 0-1 seats.

Old Mysore: In the region that has 55 seats, opinion poll results of ABP-CVoter show BJP will get 25% with 4-8 seats, Congress will win 35% with 24-28 seats, JD(S) will win in 33% with 19-23 seats, while other parties will win in 0-3 seats.

Central Karnataka: In the region with 35 seats, the results of the opinion polls show BJP will secure 37% with 10-14 seats, Congress will bag 42% with 20-24 seats, JD(S) will win in 12% with 0-2 seats, while other parties might win in 0-1 seats.

Coastal Karnataka: In this region with 21 seats, the opinion poll results show BJP will win in 46% with 13-17 seats, while Congress will bag 37% with 4-8 seats.

Mumbai Karnataka: In the region that has 50 seats, the results of ABP-CVoter opinion polls show BJP will bag 42% with 22-26 seats, Congress will register victory in 43% with 24-28 seats, JD(S) and other parties will win in 7% and 8% of the total seats respectively.

Hyderabad Karnataka: In this region with 31 seats, the opinion poll results show BJP will bag 38% with 6-10 seats, Congress will secure 43% with 24-28 seats, JD(S) will register victory in 10% seats, while other parties might win in 7% of the total seats.

How Do You Rate The Work Of CM Basavaraj Bommai?

Nearly 50% of the respondents of the ABP-CVoter Survey gave a 'Poor' rating to the current BJP government led by CM Basavaraj Bommai, 26% of the respondents felt that the BJP government can be rated 'Good'. The rest of the 24% gave it an 'Average' rating.

How Do You Rate PM Narendra Modi’s work for the state?

Out of the people who took part in the ABP-CVoter Survey, 33% rated the Prime Minister’s work as ‘Poor’, 48% said his work was ‘Good’, while the rest 19% gave it an ‘Average’ rating.

Who Is The Favourite Chief Ministerial Candidate?

Out of the respondents in the ABP-CVoter Survey, 31% said incumbent CM Basavaraj Bommai is their favourite candidate, 42% spoke in favour of Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah, 21% for JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy, 3% for Congress state chief DK Shivakumar, and 3% voted for ‘others’.

What Is The Biggest Issue In Karnataka?

Nearly 31% said unemployment, 27% said beneficial schemes, while 15% of those who took part in the ABP-CVoter Survey said it was the farmers’ issues.

Which Party Do You Think Will Form The Government?

Of the total respondents in ABP-CVoter Survey, 32% said BJP will retain power, 44% said Congress will form the government, while 15% voted for the third major political party JD(S).

[Disclaimer: The present opinion poll/ survey was conducted by CVoter from April 29 to May 5. The methodology used is CATI interviews of adult (18+) respondents with random numbers drawn from standard RDD and the sample size for the same is 73,774 across Karnataka. The same is also expected to have a margin of error of ±3 to ±5% and may not necessarily have factored in all criteria.]
