Lok Sabha elections 2019: For casting vote, the voter needs to reach his booth well within time and find the right polling booth or polling station. There are several ways by which the voter can find out his or her polling booth.
Lok Sabha elections 2019: Polling for phase 2 began for 95 Lok Sabha seats spread across 11 states and the union territory of Puducherry with Tamil Nadu witnessing contest in 38 constituencies today. Voting is also underway in 35 assembly constituencies in Odisha and in 18 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu. As the nation sinks in election mode with the second phase of polling of the 17th Lok Sabha election, it is important to know that every single voter in every democracy plays the most important role in shaping the course of the election. The Universally adopted adult franchise whereby every voter gets the right to vote and exercises his franchise to elect the govt sets the very platform of the general elections.
So it becomes imperative that the voter needs to know everything about casting his vote. A person becomes a voter only if his or her name appears in the Voter List (also known as Electoral Roll).
For casting vote, the voter needs to reach his booth well within time and find the right polling booth or polling station.
There are several ways by which the voter can find out his or her polling booth.
The voters can go to electoralsearch.in or use the Voter Helpline App to find their polling booth.
They can call the Voter Helpline number, 1950. However, a voter needs to add the STD code before dialing the number.
For finding out the polling station location, a voter can send a text. The voter can type <ECIPS> space <EPIC No> to 1950.
The voter can also go to the website of the National Voters' Service Portal (NVSP).
