Udhampur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Dr. Jitendra Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 60976 votes. The polling / voting in Udhampur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Jitendra Singh and Congress Party#s Vikramaditya singh

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 3 out of the 6 parliamentary seat with 34.4 percent vote share while the Jammu & Kashmir People's Democratic Party managed to win just 3 seats with a 20.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Udhampur Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 69.91% Lok Sabha percent with 69.81% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes.   • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta attained 194678 votes and JKN's Jagjiwan Lal bagged 76371 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate by a margin of 81364 votes BJP candidate Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta had got 250813 while JKN got Rajinder Singh Chib votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 70055 votes BJP candidate Chaman Lal Gupta had got 166206 while INC got Janak Raj Gupta votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 30810 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Dharam Paul attained 127161 votes and JD candidate Abdul Rehman bagged 96351 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JPP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Girdhari Lal Dogra attained 206639 votes and JPP's Bhim Singh bagged 95149 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate by a margin of 55429 votes INC(U) candidate Karan Singh had got 176757 while JKN got Devi Das Thakur votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BLD candidate by a margin of 58956 votes INC candidate Karan Singh had got 130272 while BLD got Om Parkash Saraf votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 72587 votes INC candidate Karan Singh had got 125890 while BJS got Baldev Singh votes.

Goa leadership stalemate nears an end. As per the sources, Pramod Sawant will be the next CM of the state. BJP has agreed to give dy CM post to Sudhin Dhawlikar. BJP President Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and BJP Goa MLAs including Pramod Sawant have arrive at a Hotel in Panaji for a meeting.

The appointment of Pramod as next Goa CM was being necessitated after the untimely demise of former CM Manohar Parrikar who passed away after battling cancer for over a year on Sunday evening. Sudin Dhavalikar of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Vijai Sardesai of the Goa Forward Party will be the deputy chief ministers of the coastal state.
