Tamluk: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Adhikari Suvendu from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 246481 votes. The polling / voting in Tamluk constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Siddhartha Naskar and All India Trinamool Congress#s Dibyendu Adhikari

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.

• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate had defeated WBTC candidate by a margin of 87952 votes CPM candidate Lakshman Chandra Seth had got 477516 while WBTC got Nirmndu Bhattacherjee votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Indian National Congress and Communist Party of India here Indian National Congress candidate defeated his Communist Party of India counterpart with a difference of 7910 votes.

• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Sushil Kumar Dhara attained 254049 votes and INC's Satis Chandra Samanta bagged 135474 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between BAC and CPI here BAC candidate defeated his CPI counterpart with a difference of 7271 votes.

• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated KMPP candidate with a difference of 17769 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Samanta, Satish Chandra attained 101109 votes and KMPP candidate Tripati Hrishikesh bagged 83340 votes
