Lohardaga: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Sudarshan Bhagat from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 6489 votes. The polling / voting in Lohardaga constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Sudarshan Bhagat and Congress Party#s Sukhdeo bhagat

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 12 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 40.1 percent vote share while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha managed to win just 2 seats with a 9.3 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Lohardaga Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 58.21% Lok Sabha percent with 57.69% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes.   • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 19397 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Indra Nath Bhagat attained 233629 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Lalit Oraon bagged 214232 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 40569 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Lalit Oraon attained 160535 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Bandi Oraon bagged 119966 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 54516 votes BJP candidate Lalit Oraon had got 139611 while INC got Sumati Oraon (W) votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 39072 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Sumati Oraon attained 148320 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Lalit Oraon bagged 109248 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Sumati Oraon attained 157284 votes and BJP's Lalit Oraon bagged 55217 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 69346 votes INC(I) candidate Kartik Oraon had got 129038 while JNP got Karma Oraon votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 64883 votes BLD candidate Lalu Oraon had got 142274 while INC got Kartik Oraon votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 66486 votes INC candidate Kartik Oraon had got 102376 while BJS got Ropna Oraon votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 33486 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader K. Doraon attained 62260 votes and BJS candidate S. Baraik bagged 28774 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, SWA candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 16370 votes. Here, SWA leader David Munzni attained 58174 votes and INC candidate Kartick Oraon bagged 41804 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, JHP candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 15494 votes. Here, JHP leader Ignece Beck attained 50185 votes and INC candidate Jatham Kharwar (St) bagged 34691 votes
