Bharuch: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Vasava Mansukhbhai Dhanjibhai from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 153273 votes. The polling / voting in Bharuch constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Mansukh Bhai Vasava and Congress Party#s Sherkhan abdul shakur pathan

Bharuch 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 26 out of the 26 parliamentary seat with 60.11 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 33.45 percent vote share.

Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Bharuch, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Vasava Mansukhbhai Dhanjibhai of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Patel Jayeshbhai Ambalalbhai (Jayesh Kaka) by a margin of 153273 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 72202 votes BJP candidate Vasava Mansukhbhai Dhanjibhai had got 299630 while INC got Patel Muhammad Fansiwala votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 47140 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Mansukhbhai Vasava attained 290195 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Amarsinh Ramsinh Vasava bagged 243055 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 11609 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Chandubhai Shanabhai Deshmukh attained 222981 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Kakuji Iqbalbhai Mahammedbhai (Iqbal Kakuji) bagged 211372 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated GAVP candidate with a difference of 23826 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Chandubhai Shanabhai Deshmukh attained 160700 votes and GAVP candidate Vasava Chhotubhai Amarbhai bagged 136874 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 22173 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Chandubhai Deshmukh attained 248437 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Ahmadbhai Mohammedbhai Patel bagged 226264 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Deshmukh Chandubhai Shambhai attained 360381 votes and INC's Ahemadbhai Mahmmadbhai Patel bagged 245046 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Patel Ahmedbhai Mohammedbhai attained 271458 votes and JNP's Deshmukh Chandubhai Shanabhai bagged 148389 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 82844 votes INC(I) candidate Patel Ahmedbhai Mohammedbhai had got 212847 while JNP got Deshmukh Chandubhai Shanabhai votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BLD candidate by a margin of 62879 votes INC candidate Patel Ahmedbhai Mohmadbhai had got 189815 while BLD got Unia Suleman Essuf votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 53132 votes INC candidate T. S. Mansinhji Bhasahes had got 159217 while NCO got Gulam Mohmed Suleman Matadar votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SWA candidate with a difference of 37857 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader M.B. Rana attained 134148 votes and SWA candidate U.N. Mahida bagged 96291 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SWA candidate with a difference of 28037 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Chhotubhai Makanbhai Patel attained 130060 votes and SWA candidate Lilavati Kanhaiyalal Munshi bagged 102023 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 17726 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Bhat Chandrashankar Manishankar attained 118054 votes and IND candidate Desai Suresh Jamietram bagged 100328 votes
