NEET Result: Mumbai's Aanchal Claims Marks Reduced From 566 To 366 In A Week; NTA Denies Allegations

NEET-UG Results 2024: Aanchal Pal claimed that her marks reduced from 566 on June 4 to 366 on June 11 when she checked her result for the second time after a week.

NEET-UG Results 2024: Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test results 2024, an aspirant named Aanchal Pal from Mumbai has come forward and alleged that she received two separate scores in the exam for the same application.

Speaking with NDTV, Aanchal alleged that she had checked her result on June 4 first and had scored 566 marks. Later, when she checked her result again on June 11, the score as per her application had reduced by 200 marks, and stood at 366.

Following her claim, the National Testing Agency issued a clarification regarding the discrepencies that were reflected in her result.

NTA Issues Clarification

The NTA, which has been caught in a major row, denied Aanchal's allegations saying, "A video featuring Ms Aanchal Pal claiming that her marks have been reduced. Regarding marks/ score card/ answer key discrepencies, NTA clarifies that marks cannot be altered as OMR answer sheets are machine-gradable," NTA posted on X.

The NTA further stated that "candidates are urged to solely rely on official website of NTA, ie. https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET to download their score card and respective answer key and may refer the OMR answer sheet, which has already been sent on their registered email ID."

"Further, any concerns can be addresed by emailing NTA with complete and correct details such as name, roll number, application number, so that NTA can verify the matter with its records available," it added.

This comes as the National Testing Agency informed the Delhi High Court on Wednesday that it will seek that all the matters regarding the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 examination results be transfered to the Supreme Court of India.

Informing the Delhi High Court about it, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated that the NTA will move a transfer petition before the apex court, adding that the request stems from the idea to ensure that there are no conflciting views on the matter.
