Just Three Jobs Away From Fulfilling 1 Lakh Govt Jobs Promise: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

We are just three jobs away from fulfilling our promise of 1 lakh government jobs to Assam's youth, said CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Tuesday that the BJP-led government in the state is just three jobs away from fulfilling its election promise of providing 1 lakh government jobs to unemployed youth, news agency IANS reported.

He also revealed plans for the transfer and posting of state government employees to be managed through a dedicated app in the near future.

"We are just three jobs short of delivering 1 lakh government jobs to the youth of Assam. This was a promise made during the last assembly election three years ago, and we are thrilled to be on the brink of achieving it," the Chief Minister told reporters.

He mentioned that additional job appointments will be made in August and September, ensuring that the election promise will be fully realised very soon.

Sarma also stated that the state government is now targeting the provision of 1.5 lakh government jobs.

"After meeting the 1 lakh job target, our next goal is to provide 1.5 lakh government jobs, starting in September," he added.

The Chief Minister further explained that transfer postings for employees will soon be managed entirely through an online application, eliminating the need for physical files.

"Starting October 2, all transfer posting requests will be processed through an online portal, allowing government employees to apply for mutual transfers via an app. The entire process will be completed digitally, providing more flexibility in the transfer policy," Sarma said.

He emphasised that this will put an end to the "culture of bias" in transfer postings, which has sometimes been influenced by powerful individuals, including political leaders.

"In the future, no one will need to approach an MLA or minister to secure a transfer posting in Assam," he added.
