CUET UG 2023 Applicants Appearing At 24 Overseas Centres Should Check Universities Portals, Says UGC Chairman

The CUET UG 2023 Exam will be held in 24 overseas centres. Foreign, NRI, as well as OCI candidates are eligible to apply for the Central Universities Undergraduate Entrance Test.

The Common University Entrance Test or CUET UG 2023 Application process is underway. Interested candidates can apply online till March 12, 2023. The CUET (UG) 2023 is being conducted for admission to Undergraduate Programmes in Central Universities and other participating Universities/Institutions/Organizations/Autonomous Colleges under the Ministry of Education and UGC. 

In the online application form for CUET (UG) - 2023, candidates must choose their nationality from the dropdown menu, with options including Indian, OCI, NRI, or Foreign. Additionally, to accommodate foreign, OCI, and NRI candidates, CUET (UG) - 2023 will be held in 24 cities outside India, as indicated on the CUET website.

Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman UGC told ABP LIVE: “Foreign candidates, as well as NRI and OCI candidates, are eligible to apply for CUET (UG) - 2023 and they can also appear in any of the above-mentioned cities outside India. However, it is recommended that all foreign, NRI, and OCI candidates visit the website of the relevant university, institution, or organization where they are seeking admission and carefully review their guidelines to ensure compliance."

UGC also has informed all the universities through “Guidelines for Admission and Supernumerary seats of International Students in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes in Higher Educational Institutions in India” dated  30 September 2022 that HEIs may adopt a transparent admission process for admitting international students. No need to use the CUET score. The seats for foreign nationals in UG and PG programs are 25 % supernumerary seats. In Ph.D. program, each faculty member can take 2 additional students over and above the limit prescribed by UGC. 

Admissions to all Undergraduate Programs at the University of Delhi will be based on the scores obtained in CUET (UG) – 2023, except for admissions to the School of Open Learning (SOL), NonCollegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB), and Foreign Nationals.
