2 Minor Siblings Found Dead In Delhi House, Mother Critically Injured, Father 'Missing': Police

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old girl and her teenage brother were found dead in their house in East Delhi on Saturday. Their mother was found injured and unconscious, while their father, Shyam (42), was reported missing, police said. According to police, they received a call at 2 pm about Shyam (42), a resident of Shashi Garden in Pandav Nagar, who is missing and whose house had been locked since Friday.

A police team immediately reached the spot and found the house locked from the outside. Upon entering, they found the siblings, a 15-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl, dead and their mother was lying unconscious in a room, PTI quoted a police officer as saying.

DCP East Delhi Apoorva Gupta said, “We received a PCR call around 2 pm where the caller informed us that their brother was missing since last evening and the door of his house was locked. When the local police reached the spot, one woman in a critical condition and her two dead children were found".

Following the incident the victims were rushed to a hospital where the doctors declared the children dead upon their arrival, Police said. Meanwhile, the mother, who sustained injuries in the attack, is currently receiving medical treatment.

Authorities suspect that Shyam killed his children, and attacked his wife before fleeing the scene. In response, police have mobilised teams to locate and apprehend Shyam.

In northwest Delhi's Mahendra Park area, a 16-year-old boy was critically injured in a stabbing attack perpetrated by three individuals. According to police reports, the altercation stemmed from a dispute that originated on social media. On Wednesday night, while the victim was standing outside his residence, the assailants approached him and launched the attack using sharp-edged weapons.

He was admitted to the hospital where his condition is stated to be critical, police said. The accused were having a verbal spat with the victim on a social media platform after which they attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon, they said. The initial cause of the fight is suspected due to social media spat but the exact reason for the attack is being investigated and teams were formed to nab the accused, a police officer said.
