Former Liquor Tycoon Ponty Chadha's Rs 400-Crore Farmhouse In Delhi's Chhatarpur Demolished, DDA Confirms
Over around four acres of property, unauthorized encroachments that included commercial showrooms, banquet halls, hotels, and godowns were removed.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Saturday razed the farmhouse of the late liquor tycoon Ponty Chadha in Chhatarpur, valued at approximately Rs 400 crore. The demolition occurred over Friday and Saturday, according to DDA sources, officials confirmed.
“Continuing with its exercise to reclaim government land over which unauthorised occupation and illegal construction has been done, the DDA on Friday demolished the farmhouse of high-profile liquor baron late Ponty Chadha alias Gurdeep Singh, spread over about 10 acres in Chhatarpur worth about Rs 400 crore,” the officials said, PTI quoted saying.
Demolition Drive Of Main Building
The demolition commenced on Friday, claiming five acres of land. Subsequently, on Saturday, the main building on the remaining portion of the farmhouse land was also demolished, it said.

In a previous demolition drive in northeast Delhi, conducted from January 13 to January 17 in Gokulpuri, unauthorised encroachments, including commercial showrooms covering roughly four acres of land, were dismantled, as per officials. But, Chadha's Wave group gave no immediate reaction on this.

In 2012, Ponty Chadha and his younger sibling Hardeep lost their lives in a violent shootout, purportedly occurring during a property disagreement between the estranged brothers and their respective companions at a farmhouse in South Delhi.
