'Shaatir Aparadhi Ki Tarah...': Manoj Tiwari Takes Aim At CM Kejriwal Over 'Sugar Spike' Reports

ED told court that CM Kejriwal was deliberately eating mangoes, sweets and consuming tea with sugar to raise his blood sugar level and use that as a ground to press for bail.

New Delhi: In an unsparing attack on jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) claimed in court on Thursday that he was deliberately consuming mangoes and sweets, taking sugar with his tea despite having type 2 diabetes, to press for bail citing elevated blood sugar levels, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari demanded that the ruling AAP chief be shifted from Tihar to a correctional in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh or Dasna at the earliest.

Posting a video on X, Tiwari said, “Arvind Kejriwal bohot hi shaatir aparadhi ki tarah sochte hain, shaatir aparadhi ke tarah baatein karte hain… For someone whose mind ticks like that of a seasoned and hardened criminal, Arvind Kejriwal should be shifted to a jail in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh or Dasna at the earliest. He is enjoying the same privileges behind bars as he used to in in his Rajmahal (palatial residence) earlier. This is because all correctional facilities in the national capital are controlled by the Delhi government. It was established beyond any reasonable doubt during the court proceedings today that he has been deliberately consuming sweets, while also tucking into Aaloo Puri (popular North Indian breakfast meal) and mangoes from home. For someone who is clinically diabetic, he is doing this deliberately so that his sugar levels shoot up and he can press for bail.”

Earlier in the day, the Enforcement Directorate told a Delhi court that CM Kejriwal was deliberately eating mangoes, sweets and consuming tea with sugar to raise his blood sugar level and use that as a ground to press for bail citing medical grounds.

The Delhi court asked Tihar Jail authorities to provide details of the diet chart of the Aam Aadmi Party national convenor.

Counsel appearing for ED, Zoheb Hossain submitted before a bench of Special Judge Kaveri Baweja that in the guise of home-cooked food, Arvind Kejriwal was taking a diet that would raise his blood sugar level.
