'PMO Conspiring To Attack Kejriwal': AAP Says After Graffiti Threatening Delhi CM Surfaces In Metro Stations

The Delhi Police launched a probe into the graffiti found written inside the metro trains and on stations bearing Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's name.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of plotting an attack on Kejriwal after graffiti threatening Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal surfaced in metro stations. The messages appeared inside Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, and Patel Nagar metro stations, as well as in Metro trains. AAP MO Sanjay Singh to allege that the conspiracy was hatched within the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

"The BJP has been in a state of panic ever since Arvind Kejriwal came out of jail. The BJP is now plotting to launch a deadly attack on Arvind Kejriwal. This conspiracy is being conducted directly from the Prime Minister's Office," Singh claimed. He further stated, "A threat of attack on Kejriwal ji has been written at Rajiv Chowk and Patel Nagar Metro stations."

Police Begin Investigation

The Delhi Police have launched an investigation into the threatening graffiti, news agency PTI reported. A police officer told PTI that pictures of the messages were shared via an Instagram account 'ankit.goel_91'. One of the messages inside a metro train read, "Kejriwal Dilli Chhor Dijiye. Please. Otherwise you will have to remember three slaps, which you planted (sic) before the election. Now the real and actual punch/slap will be there soon. Today's meeting at Jhandewalan.... Ankit.Goel_91".

Other graffiti included statements such as, "#CM Delhi leave us, we don't need freebies anymore. #45 Crore on CM Awas," and a longer message demanding transparency in the Delhi Jal Board audit and clarifications on the liquor policy kickbacks.

AAP's Allegations

AAP leader Atishi said that the BJP is anxious about their potential defeat in Delhi's upcoming Lok Sabha elections. She accused the BJP of using Swati Maliwal to target Kejriwal and expressed concerns for Kejriwal's safety.

"The images of the graffiti have also been uploaded on social media. These stations are under CCTVs and security personnel are posted round-the-clock. Why are the police not acting on it? Where is the Cyber Cell? This shows that this is being orchestrated by the BJP," Atishib alleged.

Sanjay Singh said that if any harm comes to Kejriwal, the responsibility will lie with the PMO, BJP, and Narendra Modi. He stated, "PM Narendra Modi and the BJP are so immersed in hatred and revenge that they are conspiring to kill Arvind Kejriwal ji. I want to tell the government, administration and Election Commission that if anything happens to Arvind Kejriwal, the PMO, BJP, and Narendra Modi will be responsible for it".

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court granted Kejriwal interim bail in view of the Lok Sabha elections after he was arrested on March 21 in connection with his alleged role in the Delhi excise policy case. The situation intensified last week when Swati Maliwal accused Kejriwal's aide, Bibhav Kumar, of assaulting her.
