BJP Women Workers Protest At AAP Minister Atishi's Residence Over Delhi Water Crisis

The demonstrators, holding placards and chanting slogans, criticised the administration for failing to provide adequate water supply to several areas, saying that it had severely affected daily life.

New Delhi: Women workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday staged a protest outside the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Education minister Atishi, voicing their dissatisfaction with the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government's handling of the ongoing water crisis in the capital.

The BJP women workers, holding placards and chanting slogans, criticised the administration for failing to provide adequate water to several areas, saying that this had severely affected daily life, reported ANI.

They demanded immediate action and accountability from the AAP government, urging them to resolve the crisis and ensure consistent water availability for all residents of Delhi.

On water shortage in Delhi, Minister Atishi said, "We have set up a war room in Delhi Jal Board for water tanker supply. It will be headed by a senior IAS officer. Those who need a water tanker in their area can call on number '1916'. From June 5, in all 11 water zones of Delhi, one ADM-level (Addl district magistrate) and SDM-level (subdivisional magistrate) officer will be stationed to make quick response teams to resolve any water shortage issues."

 

"Special teams of the electricity department of Delhi Jal Board are also being constituted to ensure that no borewell malfunctions... 200 enforcement teams being made to ensure that there is no wastage of water," she added, as reported by ANI.
