Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi Thanks Citizens For Reiterating 'Unwavering Faith' In Constitution In LS Polls
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted his monthly radio broadcast 'Mann Ki Baat' for the first time after being elected to office for a third term.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday thanked the people of the country for reiterating their unwavering faith in the Constitution in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. Hosting the monthly radio broadcast, Mann Ki Baat, Modi said that the 2024 election was the biggest election in the world.
"Such a big election has never been held in any country of the world," he remarked.
Modi started his address by talking about 'Hul Diwas', celebrated on June 30, associated with courage of Veer Sidhu and Kanhu. "Veer Sidhu and Kanhu united thousands of Santhali companions and fought the British with all their might," he added.
During his address, which came after three months following the elections, Modi spoke about a special campaign that was started on the World Environment Day named 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'. He said that he also planted a tree in the name of his mother and had appealed to the countrymen also to do the same.
During Amrit Mahotsav, over 60,000 Amrit Sarovars were built across the country, he noted.
The Prime Minister also extended his best wishes to the athletes particiapting in the Paris Summer Olympics 2024 next month and added that he would meet them soon and encourage them on behalf of the people of the country. He also gave a hashtag #Cheer4Bharat to encourage the players.
Modi also told about a special Hindi programme that is being aired on Kuwait Radio every Sunday.
"Our films and art are very popular among the Indian community there. I have even been told that local people of Kuwait are taking a lot of interest in it. I thank government of Kuwait and people for this wonderful initiative," he said.
Speaking about the Yoga Day, Modi extended his gratitude to all the people who participated in the event.
In the view of ongoing monsoon season, he mentioned about 'Karthumbi Umbrellas' that are made in Attappadi of Kerala. "These umbrellas are made by our tribal sisters of Kerala. Today, the demand for these umbrellas is increasing across the country," he said.
