The planning department of the Delhi government issued an administrative order to this effect on Thursday, and as a result, the SDM for Civil Lines shut the DDC office buildings late that day.
As was previously mentioned, the L-G Secretariat received a complaint alleging irregularities and anomalies in the power subsidy provided to BSES discoms by the Delhi government. The complaint claims that Jasmine Shah and Naveen Gupta, the son of AAP Rajya Sabha MP ND Gupta, perpetrated a significant swindle.
The complaint further claimed that the Kejriwal administration selected directors of the Anil Ambani Group-owned private DISCOMS BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. (BYPL). These private DISCOMS are 49% owned by the Delhi government.
In a complaint submitted in September, BJP MP Parvesh Singh Verma claimed that Shah "acted as official spokesman of the Aam Aadmi Party for political benefits, which is in violation of established processes" while serving as the DDDC vice-chairman.
In 2014, Jasmine Shah joined the AAP. In 2018, he was selected to serve as the DDDC's vice chairman. In the Delhi government, the position of DDDC V-C equates to that of a cabinet minister.
