Delhi Air Quality 'Severe', Environment Minister Calls Meet To Ensure Compliance Of SC Orders

Delhi Air Pollution: The air quality continued to remain in the 'severe' category on Wednesday morning.

Delhi AIr Pollution: With just four days to go until Diwali, there is no respite for residents in the national capital as the air quality in Delhi continued to remain in the 'severe' category on Wednesday morning, as per the Central Pollution Control Board.

Meanwhile, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has called a meeting of all concerned departments today to ensure compliance with the instructions given by the Supreme Court yesterday regarding pollution. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot and Revenue Minister Atishi will also attend this meeting.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the air quality was recorded in the 'Moderate' category on Wednesday, with AQI at 149, as per SAFAR India. As per the latest data from CPCB, the AQI in several areas of Mumbai was recorded in the 'Moderate' category. In Deonar, AQI was recorded at 155, Bandra Kurla Complex IITM 200, Borivali East 141, Colaba 151, and Malad West 177. In Delhi, AQI was recorded at 452 in Anand Vihar, in RK Puram at 433, in Punjabi Bagh at 460, and in ITO at 413.

 

 

 

Many residents in the national capital are facing difficulties in breathing and are urging the government to take steps to curb pollution. A cyclist said, "The pollution has increased. We are having difficulty in breathing. AQI has increased. Govt should take steps to curb the pollution."

A local said, "Smog is causing a lot of problems...There is difficulty in breathing and the government should do something."
