'This Universe Was Created In 2014 Only...': CM Kejriwal's Retort To BJP MLAs In Delhi Assembly

On being interrupted by BJP MLAs, during his speech highlighting the achievements of the AAP government in the national capital, the chief minister said that this "universe was created in 2014".

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took a dig at BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government during his speech in Delhi Assembly during the ongoing Budget Session. Kejriwal addressed criticism from BJP MLAs regarding the construction of 390 kilometres of Metro Rail, stating that his government was responsible for the work. He noted that the BJP was quick to take credit for everything that happened after 2014, even if it was not their doing.

On being interrupted by BJP MLAs, during his speech highlighting all the achievements of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the national capital, the chief minister said that this "universe was created in 2014", hinting at BJP's return to power after 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

Kejriwal in Delhi assembly said: "Sab aapne he kia. Is srishti ki rachna he 214 me hui. Hum to jo bhi kaam karte hain, unka (PM Modi) naam lekar kartey hain..." [You guys did everything. This universe was created in 2014 only. Whatever work we do, we do it in his (PM Modi's) name.]

Delhi Chief Minister in his speech highlighted the success of the "Delhi model". He characterised the Delhi model as an educated government, development for all, zero corruption, freedom from inflation, free electricity, free water, and health for all.

He noted that in the past, Delhi was known for scams, but today, it is recognised for its schools.

"Despite spending thousands of crores to prove the scam, the public does not agree," he said in the Delhi assembly.

He also claimed that his government has accomplished double the work in eight years compared to what was done in 65 years.

Kejriwal highlighted the success of education and health initiatives and stated that despite providing everything for free in Delhi, the budget remained profitable.

The Delhi Chief Minister also showcased other achievements of his government, including the provision of free bus travel for women, making Delhi the EV capital of the country.

He also mentioned laying sewer lines in 747 colonies, doubling sewage treatment capacity and water supply, and laying 5138 km of water pipelines in eight years.
