Uttar Pradesh Govt Hikes DA By 2 Per Cent For State Employees

The Uttar Pradesh government's recent decision will benefit approximately 16 lakh government employees. In addition, around 12 lakh pensioners will receive a 2 percent hike in Dearness Relief (DR).

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for State Government employees by 2% with effect from January 1, 2025. Following the hike, the DA of the state employees has been hiked from 53 to 55 percent, according to a report by news agency ANI.

As per the details, it will come into effect with the salary of April, which the employees will get in May.

Assam, Maharashtra Governments Announced DA For Employees

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also announced on Friday that the state government will be granting an additional 2 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) to its employees and pensioners.

"The Assam Cabinet has announced 2 per cent more dearness allowance for the state government employees and pensioners. This will come into effect from January 1, 2025. We will add the 2 per cent more DA along with the salary before the Bihu and arrears will be given in April and May," Sarma said, ANI reported.

The state cabinet took several other significant decisions during the meeting, including enhancing the use of Assamese in government communications, free medicines, citizen participation policy on flood mitigation, and protecting the rights of the Koch Rajbongshi community.

In March, the Maharashtra government announced a 12 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees under the unrevised 5th Pay Commission pay scale, effective from July 1, 2024.

According to a Government Resolution (GR), the revised DA—raised from 443 percent to 455 percent—will be disbursed in cash with the February 2025 salary, along with arrears for the period between July 1, 2024, and January 31, 2025.
