Uddhav Thackeray Govt Responsible For Sushant Singh's Family Not Getting Timely Justice: BJP MLA

BJP MLA Ram Kadam accused former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray of negligence in Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case, alleging evidence erasure to protect his associates.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday slammed former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case alleging him of negligence in the case.

BJP MLA Ram Kadam, in a video message, said that had Uddhav Thackeray handed over the probe to Central Bureau of Investigation on time, the actor would have got timely justice.

"When the entire country was demanding that Sushant Singh Rajput's case be handed over to CBI, Uddhav Thackeray government deliberately showed negligence. When Bihar Police came to Mumbai for investigation, they too were stopped. What was the reason?" questioned the BJP legislator.

'Evidence Erased To Save Own People'

Kadam further alleged that in order to save his people, the Thackeray government erased evidence linked to the case.

"To save the people of Uddhav Thackeray government, all evidence was erased. Furniture at Sushant's residence was removed, it was painted and it was returned to the actual owner. When you erase all evidence, your leaders stand as spokespersons of Rhea Chakraborty - what is the meaning of all this? " he questioned further.

"Had Uddhav Thackeray handed over the case to CBI at the right time, Sushant's family would have definitely received justice. If they are not getting justice today, Uddhav Thackeray government is responsible for it," he added.

CBI Files Closure Report

The CBI filed two separate closure reports related to Rajput's death, said the officials on Saturday. The first report was in connection with the abetment to suicide case filed by his father, and another by the actor's rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty against his sisters.

On June 14, 2020, the 34-year-old actor was found hanging from the ceiling of his apartment in suburban Bandra in Mumbai. His postmortem conducted at Cooper Hospital concluded that the actor died due to asphyxia.

In its report, the federal probe agency concluded there was no material to support the allegations that anyone could have driven the actor to suicide, the officials said.
