Suspect Taken Into Custody By Mumbai Police For Attack On Saif Ali Khan

Mumbai Police have apprehended a suspect in the stabbing attack on actor Saif Ali Khan within 24 hours. Khan sustained six stab wounds, including a serious injury to his thoracic spinal cord.

Just after 24 hours of the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, the Mumbai Police has taken one person in custody for his alleged involvement in the crime. The police are now questioning the suspect at the Bandra Police Station. However, it's not the man caught on CCTV camera.

Mumbai Police DCP Gedam Dikshit clarified that no one has been placed under arrest in the case so far.

Saif Ali Khan was stabbed around 2 AM on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. He sustained six stab wounds, including a grievous injury on his thoracic spinal cord.

The suspect is thought to have entered Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor's home at Satguru Sharan Apartments with the intention to burgle the house. However, he did not know that it was the actors' house.

Once inside the house, the burglar was spotted by a nanny in the household. The attacker allegedly demanded Rs 1 crore, after which he assaulted the nanny who looks after Khan's younger son Taimur.

As she raised an alarm, Saif rushed to her aid and caught the man. However, he slashed at Saif with a knife and stabbed him in the back leading to severe blood loss. The burglar escaped using the fire escape.

Eliyama Philip, the nanny, told the police that she had been working at the actors' house for the past four years. Saif and Kareena own four floors of the building.
