UP: Fire Erupts In Noida's Garment Store In Sector-63, One Dead

A 34-year-old woman lost her life and her husband sustained severe burns in a fire that erupted at a two-storey garment store in Noida on Tuesday, police said.
The incident took place at a store in Chhijarsi village, located in the Sector-63 police station area, on the main road. The fire was reported around 3:30 am, leading to the immediate dispatch of four fire tenders to the scene, officials said, news agency PTI reported.
At the time of the fire, the shop owner, Rohit Sharma, and his wife, Vinita, were asleep on the first floor of the building. Both suffered critical burns, a police spokesperson stated.

Initial investigations suggest the fire was likely caused by a short circuit, and further investigation is underway, police said.
Massive Fire Breaks Out At Scrap Shop In Kerala
In a similar incident, a massive fire erupted in a scrap godown near a residential area in Kochi, Kerala, on Sunday morning (January 5), triggering panic among the people.
According to PTI, after receiving information about the blaze, fire and rescue service units rushed to the spot and launched efforts to extinguish it. As the fire spread rapidly, rescue workers evacuated the residents from the vicinity.
There was no information about any casualty.
According to local residents, the fire erupted around 10 am at the shop, which has been operating in the area for several years.
The exact reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained. To contain the fire, additional fire force units were deployed at the scene. After a two-hour-long operation, the flames were brought under control.
