1 Killed, 18 Injured As Bus Carrying Maha Kumbh Devotees Hits Truck On Chhattisgarh-MP Border
A bus carrying Maha Kumbh devotees crashed into a truck near the Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh border, killing one and injuring 18.

One person was killed while 18 others were injured as a bus carrying Maha Kumbh devotees to Prayagraj rammed into a stationary truck on the Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh border on Wednesday, officials said.
The incident took place between 6 am and 7 am near Kahairjhiti village after which police personnel from Anuppur district in MP and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district in Chhattisgarh reached the spot, said a police official, reported PTI.
The private bus was carrying devotees to Prayagraj from Jagdalpur, the headquarters of Chhattisgarh's Bastar district when it crashed into the stationary truck, which had broken down and was parked on the roadside, the official said.
The helper of the bus died while 18 other occupants suffered injuries and were admitted to the Anuppur district hospital, said the official, adding an investigation was underway into the accident.

3 Devotees Killed In MP
In another incident, three people were killed and two others sustained injuries when their speeding car collided with a truck in Madhya Pradesh's Maihar district on Wednesday, said the police.
The accident took place at around 1:30 pm when the family was returning to their home in Mumbai from Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj, Maihar Kotwali police station in-charge Animesh Dwivedi said, reported PTI.
The vehicle collided with a truck parked on a roadside near Narora village on National Highway no. 30 as the car driver lost control over the wheels. Three car occupants, a couple and their daughter, died on the spot while two others were injured, the officials said.
The deceased have been identified as Sunil Kumar Upadhyay (62), his wife Sarojita Upadhyay (56) and their daughter Sneha Upadhyay (28), the official said.
Two other members of the Upadhyay family were injured and undergoing treatment at the district hospital, the official said, adding a police case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
