Delhi-NCR received drizzle and light rainfall after witnessing a sudden change in the weather on Thursday amid a scorching heatwave.

The Indian Meteorological Department on Thursday forecasted that heatwave conditions in Delhi are expected to ease significantly starting April 10 and are likely to subside completely by April 11 due to the impact of the ongoing Western Disturbance and associated cyclonic features.

Light rain or drizzle, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong surface winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph (gusting up to 50 kmph), is expected on April 10 and 11, it added.

The IMD also predicted that maximum temperatures to drop by 3–5°C over the next three days, followed by a gradual rise of 2–4°C thereafter. The national capital's maximum temperature to hover around 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to fall to around 26 degrees Celsius.
