3 Naxals Killed In Encounter With Security Forces In Chhattisgarh

Security forces have launched an anti-Maoist operation in the Dantewada-Bijapur border area in Chhattisgarh.

Security forces have launched an anti-Maoist operation in the border area of Dantewada and Bijapur districts in Chhattisgarh, news agency IANS reported.

As per the details, during the operation, heavy firing between Maoists and security personnel began at 8 AM and is still going on.

As of now, the bodies of three Naxalites have been recovered, along with a large cache of weapons and ammunition. The encounter and search operation are still ongoing, and further details are awaited.

30 Naxals Killed In Gunfight In Bijapur

Thirty Naxals were killed during a gunfight in the forest area along the Bijapur-Dantewada border under Gangaloor police station limit on March 20. One Bijapur District Reserve Jawan has also lost his life.

The Bijapur Police said that a large cache of weapons and ammunition was seized from the deceased insurgents.

The shootout started when security forces ramped up anti-Naxal offensive in the area.

CM Sai Outlines Bastar Transformation Vision To PM Modi

Amid the ongoing crackdown on Naxal activities, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 11, presenting an ambitious master plan aimed at developing the Bastar region. The proposal outlines a vision to transform the conflict-ridden area into a thriving hub for infrastructure, industry, and tourism, reported news agency ANI.

CM Sai stressed that Naxalism in Chhattisgarh is nearing its end. He credited the joint efforts of the state police and central forces for reclaiming several former Naxal strongholds, restoring confidence in government-led initiatives. "The landscape of Bastar is changing dramatically. Through a combination of strategic security interventions and developmental projects, we are paving the way for a prosperous future," Sai was quoted as saying by ANI.

The state government is now accelerating efforts to position Bastar as a rising industrial and economic centre, with a strong focus on job creation and improving the living standards of the tribal communities.

Wave of Surrenders in Bijapur as Naxal Influence Weakens

In a further sign of diminishing Naxal control, 17 insurgents voluntarily surrendered in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, a few weeks back. Confirming the development, Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Yadav stated, "Seventeen Naxals have laid down their arms in Bijapur district. They were actively involved in various roles within the Gangaloor area committee of the banned Maoist organisation."
