CBI Arrests 6 Delhi Transport Officials In Corruption & Bribery Case
The CBI has been receiving complaints about widespread corruption in the department, after an investigation, the agency arrested six officials from the Delhi Transport Department.

Following the recent elections, six Delhi Transport Department officials have been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under allegations of corruption and bribery. This has been the first major action in the national capital after the ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) recently lost the elections.
According to a PTI report, the CBI has been receiving complaints about widespread corruption in the department. The agency conducted surveillance and verified the complaints before proceeding with the arrest.
The verification of complaints revealed prima facie evidence of corruption at various levels, which led to the arrests.

The AAP, which was ruling Delhi for over 10 years, suffered defeat in the recent Assembly polls with even party supremo Arvind Kejriwal losing to BJP's Parvesh Verma in a New Delhi seat. The BJP has returned to power in Delhi after nearly three decades, which means that for the first time in 27 years, the BJP will be in power at the Centre as well as in Delhi at the same time.
