Bengaluru Techie Arrested For Selling 'High-Quality' Foreign Ganja In Hyderabad

A software engineer employed at a reputed company in Bengaluru was apprehended on Monday by the Prohibition and Excise Department for allegedly selling high-quality foreign ganja to persons known to him.

Acting on a tip-off about the illegal transportation and sale of OG Kush, a premium variety of ganja, at Prashanth Hills Colony in Raidurg, an excise team increased surveillance and conducted a surprise raid. They apprehended 28-year-old Siva Ram, a native of East Godavari district.

According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, the next individual, Ajay Karra, from Bangalore, who reportedly supplied the contraband to Siva Ram, is currently absconding. Police captivated 175 grams of OG kush, one kg of dry ganja, a bike, and a mobile phone apart from sale proceeds of Rs.1.91 lakh from the possession of Siva Ram.

Shamshabad Prohibition and Excise Officer Krishna Priya revealed that Siva Ram, a consultant in Bengaluru, travelled to Hyderabad on weekends to sell the contraband to customers. He sourced OG Kush from Ajay Karra in Bengaluru for Rs. 1,500 per gram and resold it to consumers at Rs. 3,000 per gram.

Nashik Police Arrested Drug Traffickers In Late-Night Raid

In a separate incident on January 8, eight control room (CR) mobile vans chased for an hour across the city to nab drug traffickers and 28 kilograms of ganja with them. The development came when a red MH 02 registered car tried to breach the Adgaon stop and search checkpoint on Tuesday around 2 am.

Acting on suspicion of illegal weapons, narcotics, explosives, or similar contraband, the control room was alerted within seconds. Eight CR mobile units of the Nashik City Police quickly sprang into action. The suspect attempted to evade capture by avoiding the main roads but failed to outmaneuver the police.

According to a report by NDTV, the pursuit spanned several locations across Nashik City, including Adgaon, Dwarka U-turn, Amardham U-turn, KK Wagh College, and Chakradhar Swami Mandir. A vehicle search revealed 28 kg of ganja concealed in the trunk.
