Ahmedabad: ‘Superhero’ Delivery Agent Braves Knee-Deep Water To Deliver Food, Wins Hearts — WATCH

A delivery agent in Gujarat garnered praise for wading through knee-deep water to deliver an order during heavy rainfall, leading Zomato to commend him as a "superhero."

A delivery agent garnered widespread praise for his commitment and perseverance online for wading through knee-deep water to deliver an order during heavy rain in the Ahmedabad district of Gujarat. The video was shared on social media and went viral. 

In the 16-second clip that has gone viral on social media handle X, the user requested Zomato CEO, Deepinder Goyal, to reward the delivery man for his dedication and determination toward his work.

Zomato also commended the delivery agent, referring to him as a "superhero." “Thank you for highlighting our delivery partner's extraordinary efforts! They truly went above and beyond, braving extreme weather like a superhero,” Zomato said in a post on X.

Netizens' Reactions On Viral Video 

Ever since the video came to light, it has attracted several social media users with glowing responses over the viral video. One user said, "This person who works with his hard work and dedication should be rewarded like this from the company."

Another said, "This is individual effort. Zomato should not take any credit considering its history of behavior with partners."

The next user stated, "Much appreciated for taking rescue. Whoever has ordered knows the rescue involved, why order in the first place. Only few days back there was different kind of complaint."

Gujarat Inundated With Heavy Rains

This incident occurred as Gujarat continued to experience heavy rain and flooding, resulting in 32 deaths and the relocation of over 32,000 people within four days.

Several districts of the state have been hit by heavy rainfall, with Navsari recording the highest at 356 mm, followed by Dangs, Vadodara, and Anand. South Gujarat districts, including Valsad, Tapi, Navsari, Surat, Narmada, and Panchmahal, have been severely affected.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is closely monitoring the flood situation and has directed officials to take all necessary actions to ensure public safety.

The heavy rains have caused heavy damage to infrastructure, with at least 62 houses destroyed and 271 partially damaged. Additionally, 22 huts have been affected. Relief operations are in progress, with the Indian Air Force delivering supplies and MI-17 helicopters air-dropping essential items to stranded residents in Jamnagar and Vadodara.
