2 STF Jawans Injured In IED Blast In Chhattisgarh's Bijapur
The injured jawans were evacuated to Raipur for better treatment. Their condition is said to be out of danger.

Two security personnel sustained injuries in an IED blast in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur. The incident took place when the Special Task Force (STF) jawans were near the Karegutta Hills in the district on Sunday, May 4.
According to police officials, the injured personnel were evacuated to Raipur for better treatment. Their condition is out of danger, news agency ANI reported, citing a police official.
A similar incident took place last month after two security personnel sustained injuries in separate incidents involving IED blasts in Bijapur. The first incident took place on the night of April 24, when an STF (Special Task Force) Jawan suffered a sprain to his ankle due to the impact of an IED explosion, news agency ANI reported.
Another blast took place on April 26, wherein a DRG (District Reserve Guard) Jawan sustained minor injuries. Both the jawans were in stable condition and received medical treatment. Police officials told ANI that they are expected to recover quickly and return to active duty soon.
Naxalite Killed In Encounter With Security Forces In Gariaband
Security forces killed a Naxalite carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh on his head during an encounter in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district, police said on Saturday.
The gunfight took place late evening on Friday in a forest near Motipani village under Jugad police station limits. A joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and E-30, a unit of the district police, was out on an anti-Naxal operation when the encounter broke out, news agency PTI reported.
"The operation was launched based on inputs about the movement of Naxalites in the area, located over 180 km away from capital Raipur," he said.
Security forces recovered the body of a Naxalite, one self-loading rifle (SLR), and a huge cache of explosive material from the spot after the encounter stopped.
Later, the killed Naxalite was identified as Yogesh, a divisional committee member, carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh.
