Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Engages With Delivery Agents For Feedback On Working Conditions

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, who has faced criticism regarding the operational conditions of delivery partners, found the interaction insightful

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal recently interacted with three of the company’s delivery executives, in an effort to better understand the experiences of delivery agents. The discussion, which aimed to gather feedback on working conditions and benefits, was shared by Goyal on Instagram.

"Umesha, Vinish, and Jaswinder joined Zomato around three years back. Here is a bite of them sharing their favorite thing about working as a delivery partner. Learned so many things and got their feedback on how we can improve our systems," Goyal captioned the video.

The delivery agents highlighted flexibility as one of the top perks of working at Zomato, noting that they are not accountable to anyone regarding their work schedules and can take leaves without needing permission.

Umesha, based in Bengaluru, emphasized the autonomy he experiences in his role. "If I do my work well, no one complains," he stated. Umesha, who previously ran his own company, added, "Main apna khud ka malik hoon (I am my own boss). I still feel like I am my own boss."

Vinish V., a delivery partner from Kerala, echoed similar sentiments. He expressed happiness with his job, appreciating the freedom it offers. He mentioned that he can choose not to accept deliveries and take time off whenever he wishes. "It's not like this at other places," he remarked.

Jaswinder Singh, working in Chandigarh, discussed the differences between Zomato and other companies. "I don't have anyone bossing me around," he said, adding that he can always contact his Team Leader if he encounters any issues during deliveries. Singh praised his Team Leader for being responsive and providing solutions whenever associates reach out.

Goyal, who has faced criticism regarding the operational conditions of delivery partners, found the interaction insightful. He gained valuable knowledge and suggestions on how to enhance Zomato's processes.

The video of the interaction has been shared on Instagram, providing a glimpse into the working lives of Zomato's delivery agents and the company's efforts to improve their working conditions.
