Shark Tank India: Humpy A2, Kunafa World & Gold Life Anti Suicide Rod Make Strong Pitches In Latest Episode
The latest episode on Wednesday witnessed interesting ventures including Humpy A2, Kunafa World and Gold Life Anti Suicide Fan Rod
New Delhi: The business entrepreneurial show Shark Tank India has garnered mixed reviews since it went live last year. The show managed to keep its viewers hooked as it kept bringing strong business pitches and weird ideas at the same time.
First launched in Japan in 2001 as ‘Tigers of Money’ on Nippon TV, the show format was adapted by the UK in 2005 and it was called Dragon’s Den there. The US then picked it up in 2009 and is running its 13th season now.

The first season has completed 25 episodes, giving India’s entrepreneurs a platform to find investors and funds to expand their ventures.
In its official Twitter account, Shark Tank India promoted the show stating about the three ventures and their founders appearing on the show to pitch to sharks.

Co-founders Zamzeer Ahamed and Jameela Ruhi pitched their venture Kunafa World. The Mangaluru couple have been offering middle eastern desserts across several regions in India. They have more than 10 outlets running across the country.
Another venture to found a place in the show is Humpy A2, a brand that offers pure A2-certified milk to its buyers in Pune. Founded by Vishal Chaudhari, Malvika Gaekwad, and Jaywant Patil, the company delivers authentic organic dairy products free from any chemicals to citizens.
Another interesting pitch is from a startup that invented Gold Life Anti Suicide Fan Rod, an Anti Suicide Fan Rod. Founder Er. Sharad Ashani has designed it to stop suicides by hanging from ceiling fans.
While promoting the content of the show, it stated through a tweet that HumpyA2, an A2 certified dairy products brand cracked their investment deal with Shark Peyush Bansal, Shark Vineeta Singh, and Shark Ghazal Alagh for Rs1 crore at 15 percent equity.
One of the founders of HumpyA2 is Jaywant Patil. Patil is BE Electronics and MBA in E-Business. He has eight years of experience in the IT industry, and practicing organic agriculture since 2010, according to the company website.
While the other founder Malvika Gaekwad started organic farming as a hobby in 2013. Until November 2015, she was working as a software engineer in an MNC in Pune. The third founder Vishal Chaudhari is a techie-turned creative salesman and marketer.
Shark Vineeta Singh has offered Rs 50 lakhs for 10 percent equity in exchange while Sharks Ghazal Alagh and Ashneer Grover have offered Rs 75 lakhs for the same.
The show comprises six judges or “sharks” on Shark Tank India including Namita Thapar of Emcure Pharma, Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com, Ghazal Alagh of Mamaearth, Peyush Bansal of Lenskart, Aman Gupta of Boat, and Vineeta Singh of Sugar Cosmetics.
