PM Narendra Modi will launch the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Monday for eligible farmer households.
The scheme has so far benefitted more than 11 crore farmers via 18 installments and in the previous edition, 9.58 crore farmers received benefits from the scheme.
What Is The PM-KISAN Scheme?
As per the PM KISAN scheme, the government disburses an income support of Rs 6,000 per year for land-holding agriculture-practising farmers. This support is distributed in three installments. As such, the beneficiaries of the scheme will receive Rs 2,000 in their bank accounts every four months. The eligible family members under the scheme include the husband, wife, and minor children.
How To Check Beneficiary Status
Eligible beneficiaries can access the status of their benefits on the official website of the scheme at https://fw.pmkisan.gov.in/beneficiarystatus.aspx.
Individuals can check their beneficiary status by either entering their mobile number or registration number, entering the text shown in the window and clicking on Get Data to view the final status on the screen.
Who Is Eligible And Who Isn't?
The scheme states that all small and marginal farmers (SMFs) across the country aged 18 years and above and upto the age of 40 years remain eligible for the benefits. However, there are some guidelines for the exclusion criteria of the scheme, as mentioned below.
- All Institutional Land holders
- Farmer families which belong to one or more of the following categories
- Former and present holders of constitutional posts
- Former and present Ministers/ State Ministers and former/present Members of LokSabha/ RajyaSabha/ State Legislative Assemblies/ State Legislative Councils,former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
- All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments and its field units Central or State PSEs and Attached offices /Autonomous Institutions under Government as well as regular employees of the Local Bodies
(Excluding Multi Tasking Staff /Class IV/Group D employees)
- All superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs.10,000/-or more (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV/Group D employees) of above category
- All Persons who paid Income Tax in last assessment year
