Job Postings For Tech Roles Surge, Demand For Entry-Level Talent Soars: Report

Gl Excelerate, career support platform, on Tuesday revealed that job postings have increased 43 per cent on the platform in the second quarter of the current 2024-25 fiscal year (FY25). The platform focuses on connecting top talent with recruiters across the tech industry across Data Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, Cloud Computing, and AI.
This growth in job postings shows an increase in demand for fresh graduates, reported Business Standard. Amongst the required jobs, entry-level roles accounted for 59 per cent of all listings, where demand was particularly robust in BFSI, data analytics, consulting, and IT/ITES sectors.
Among the postings, data and tech roles remained dominant, while positions in machine learning, data analytics, and AI led the charge. In terms of locations, metro cities such as Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Bengaluru continued to emerge as the primary hubs for these opportunities.

The latest report from Naukri JobSpeak revealed that IT sector has seen a notable 18 per cent jump in hiring compared to the year-ago period and AI/ML roles accounted for 31 per cent of the new hirings. The most lucrative designations included data analyst, data engineer, business analyst, and data scientist. These roles are essential in nature and include data-driven decision making and digital innovation.
For those looking for jobs, the data clearly shows that they should focus on honing their skills in AI and data analytics, as these segments are witnessing high growth and can help boost employability for individuals.
In terms of locations, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad continued to remain lucrative destinations for firms hiring via GL Excelerate, the report noted. This also remained in alignment with the latest Naukri JobSpeak report which emphasised that metro cities remain crucial for tech professionals looking for diverse opportunities and growth in their career.
